TO ALL FINISHERS - RESULTS NOW LIVE
Winner of the first-ever City2Sea in 2011, Steve Kelly, produced a
stunning performance to clinch the 14km event at the third annual Sunday Age City2Sea presented by Westpac.
Setting a formidable pace from starting gun to finish line, Kelly took the tape at 00:42:26, faster
than his original 2011 win time of 00:43:43, but slightly under pace from his
2012 runner-up finish of 00:42:06.
Meanwhile, Brisbane’s pint-sized powerhouse Clare Geraghty smashed the
women’s course record of 00:49:56 set in 2011 by Kate Smyth by 12 seconds,
completing the race in 00:49:44.
Congratulations to Rob Paterson, winner of the elite wheelchair category completing the 14km course in 00:40:08.
Nearly 14,000 runners of all ages and abilities tackled the course – the
largest number of participants in the event’s history – proving the popularity
of the unique race across Melbourne. To date the event has raised more than
$267,000 for a range of Australian charities, including City2Sea’s official
partner Movember. Fundraising is still open for the rest of the week.
