When you start your DJ career by winning a couple of DMC mixing competitions you get noticed…but to still be around two decades later takes more than vinyl juggling skills…following those Victorian DMC titles John Course has cemented himself as one of the leading personalities in Australian dance music culture.
Having been part of the house music revolution in Australia John has mixed numerous compilations including Vicious Cuts, Ministry Of Sounds Sessions, One Love. Over 1 million albums with John Course mixes sold in this country, he is still one of Australia’s most in demand DJ’s.

ANYWAY CLUB | INDIE DANCE STAGE
Anyway is Melbourne’s weekly super-club taking place every Saturday night. After reopening Melbourne’s iconic Palace theatre to the club scene, Anyway has hosted the best in international and local DJ’s combined with unparalleled production, performers and not to forget the thousands of revellers each and every week.

THE GUILTY PLEASURES
The Guilty Pleasures is a fresh take on the big band sound. We play our own brand of high-energy funk, swing, and groove music which is sure to get you dancing (or running). We have taken the hard-hitting big band genre and reduced it to its bare bones. But this little big band sure does pack a punch! Our members have performed at national festivals including Falls Festival, The Darwin International Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Rainbow Serpent and many more.
A mobile party, VWDJ will this year will bring fresh tracks to course, blasting hits from a Kombi van!

CITY OF MELBOURNE HIGHLAND PIPE BAND
The City of Melbourne Highland Pipe Band is one of Australia’s oldest pipe bands. Our members are proud of traditions dating back to the 1890s. Since that time the band has earned a reputation for musical innovation and excellence in performance.
'STILTTAINMENT'S STILT DIVA'S' embody & celebrate exquisite feminine beauty. Their goddess-like beauty inspires reverence & adoration from afar. Wearing elaborately decorative costumes, which are lavish, glittering with rhinestones, sequins and feathers of all colours. They rove & entertain with grace, elegance & poise. Truly magical & sophisticated!
Squawkestra is a place where glorious sounds and harmonious playing is strongly encouraged but squawks are welcome. Squawkestra is a community orchestra for adults who are beginning to learn or returning to playing music.
THE NOVA 100 CHEER SQUAD
The Nova Casanovas are picking up their pom poms once again for the Nova Cheer Zone at City2Sea! Getting to the finish line will be so much easier once you’ve danced your way through the Nova Cheer Zone as the DJ plays the latest tunes to get your energy pumping!
Deakin Cheerleading Club is a university club of competitive dancers and cheerleaders. They spend several hours every week pushing their limits in stunting, tumbling and dancing to become the best they can be. Deakin Cheer has around 200 members across 15 teams who all compete at many competitions throughout the year across Australia. With numerous state and national champion titles under their belt the Deakin Cheerleaders have set their sights this year on competing at the world championships in Florida, USA.
ALPHINGTON UKULELE GROUP
We are a community Ukulele group, formed 5 years ago by Melbourne Ukulele Kollective member Robyn Houghton, we practice weekly at the Alphington Community Centre. We have a beginners group and a performance group, performing at School Fates and Community Events.
The Siblings is a young Australian band formed in Melbourne by the Burjawi’s family from Elwood College. Main vocalist: Elissa, Pianist: Nader and lead guitar: Tamer Burjawi. The band is inspired by different styles of music, such as funk, rock, and jazz. Their primary objective is to release an original album in the near future, for the time being they preform covers and instrumentals.

The Funk Buddies are 8 professional musicians from Melbourne, Australia. Between us there are many years of experience on stage and in studios, at festivals and functions, in dingy pubs and swanky clubs, in Melbourne, around the country and all over the world. Members of the band have shared the stage and studio with many local and international greats, at big events and on television. We make our living playing, recording, teaching, writing and arranging music. But when we want to let loose, we get together and unleash our favourite sound, New Orleans Street Funk.
